![]() ![]() Once it's over, you back out again and resume kiting, while the caster keeps it snared. The way to do it is for the melee to hold aggro and kite it around, waiting out of melee range for it to start the mind flay, when you run in and unload everything you can before it finishes. ![]() I would suggest a group of two, one melee to hold aggro, and one ranged dps with a snare to slow it down. Some notes on kiting: It's incredibly easy for anything with a snare to kite these. The shadows hit me - a ret pally with 3pc t4, ~8k armor - for ~1800 each hit, but the mind flay only ticked on me for about 217, meaning it was a lot less painful to just soak up the mind flay and keep him from hitting me two or three times than it was to stop it. Max range for wraths and starfires is the only way to do this - if you don't, you'll be in range for his fear and you'll likely run into more adds.Ĭomment by VonrielI would strongly suggest against interrupting/countering/stunning/etc. Because I'm rest, though, the adds weren't much of an issue, I'd just heal through them. If any adds get on, keep him rooted and take care of the adds. Keep him outside the circle (but close enough for him to not reset) and chain root him while spamming wrath. I solo'd him later, too, when there were no undead around, (again, during a dead hour) and it was even easier to manage.įor any other casting druids that wanna give it a try, it's easy. (after the first five deaths) If you don't watch where you're going, he may fear you into the group of undead. However, his fear and mind flay's max range were shorter than my wraths and starfires, so it was easy to chain root him and spam wraths regularly. He has a Mind Flay, a Fear, and he hit me (at 2k armor) for 2k. I'm not sure if any other class can solo this, but I aggroed him to outside of the circle of undead, and rooted him. (During a dead hour, so there was no alliance to gank me) I died the first few times, but I formulated a solid strategy to downing one effectively. Especially considering the abuse the horde players were screaming at each other while squabbling over the tags…Ĭomment by KasagaSolo'd this as a resto druid.Ĭleared a path through the undead in the area, and out of curiosity, disrupted his ritual. I think it’s a shame cooperation between the factions isn’t promoted more, since this was actually a fun, different experience. Using emotes we then agreed on helping each other with the two last ones, so they tagged the first one, we fought it together, and then I tagged the last one and they helped me defeat it. When I looked up I saw they were being owned by it, so I charged in and helped them finish it off. While I cleared the remaining trash the alliance guys spoke to one of the cultists and picked the fight with the Shadow. Most of the other players grinding there left, but I (undead warrior) stayed behind along with an alliance druid and hunter. For some strange reason the crystal despawned after only one of the Shadows were defeated. ![]()
